Our Environmental Committment
At Vail Resorts Development Company our long term goal is to build green practices into our projects and integrate our guests needs while balancing our obligation to protect the spectacular natural environment, which serves as the backdrop of our resorts.
Construction of One Ski Hill Place will uphold RockResorts’ longstanding pledge to the environment with adherence to Green Globes guidelines. The lodge will employ green building features to include recycled materials and low energy windows, in addition to fiber cement siding, faucet and toilet sensors, engineered hardwood flooring, native stone, Energy Star appliances and water saving devices.
One Ski Hill Place has incorporated the following Green Globes initiatives:
Maintaining high indoor air quality by using low voc (volatile organic compounds) paints, carpets and sealants
High thermal insulation for exterior walls and roofs and low-energy windows for more efficient energy use
Daylighting in the building design is optimized through the building orientation and window-to-wall size ratios
Minimizing disturbance of the surrounding natural environment with the implementation of erosion control and limiting negative impacts of exterior lighting to preserve the natural night sky
Energy-efficient equipment: high efficiency boilers, building automation systems and energy-efficient hot water service systems, low flow toilets and shower heads and Energy Star appliances resulting in lower energy consumption
Local stone and concrete and recycled drywall and fiber cement siding are used in the construction
